Lead Poverty Cancer - The Silent Killer Eating Away At Your Bank Account



I'd like to start off by welcoming everyone to Poverty 101. My name is Tim Ward and I'll be your instructor for the semester. Poverty 101 is a great class and I hope you all enjoy taking it as much as I love teaching it. Please feel free to raise your hands if you have any questions and/or comments, student participation is always welcome as it makes my job a lot easier. Every time someone asks a question that's 10 less minutes I have to fill with course material. And you can imagine that in a class about poverty course material is very scarce.

Volunteer. We have both volunteered on service trips with our church and other faith-based organizations. These opportunities have taken us into some of the most impoverished communities in Egypt, Uganda, and the Dominican Republic, as well as Orlando, Hartford, New York, and Washington, D.C. in the United States. These trips have ranged anywhere from one day to one week to one month.



But changing your about money does not happen overnight. I should be embarrassed to say that it took me years to change mine. But I am not because it helped me to learn, and grow. It took me so long because I had so many ingrained thoughts about money that were not supporting my higher purpose. And it took a long time for me to replace the poverty mindset thoughts, with the prosperity mindset thoughts. It also took a lot of prayer, support from others and education. But now that I have got it I am dedicated to assisting others.

Exactly what is a poverty mindset? My opinion is that it is having a mindset that is opposite of abundance. read more This is actually abundance in any area. It could be a poverty mindset in your physical life, mental life, emotionally life or spiritual life. But for this particular article I am going to talk about the poverty mindset and money.

Living in Southeast Asia, I am confronted with poverty on a daily basis. But, there is a Western poverty in developed countries which needs to be addressed. Very few Americans are suffering from lack of food, but a significant percentage earn less than the basic minimum needed to live.

Once example, in Brooklyn, New York, there is a Poverty problem, but to understand Poverty in this country, is critical to take a look behind these kinds of numbers that are lingering in the Census Bureau's reports. Look at the actual living conditions of the individuals that our government claims are poor.

The whole process starts with changing our attitude and belief concerning wealth. It is important that we discard every negative belief we have previously planted in our mind concerning wealth and replace it with positive beliefs. It is a process which begins from the inside.

We, the people of the world can make a big difference if we stop ignoring and together solve this issue. It's never too late to take a stand for a good cause; this is our time to remove poverty from the world economy.
